About

I am an Art Director, Designer and Trusted Tester, with over thirteen years of academic and professional experience, passionate about helping others. New to the Washington, DC area—I am looking for more ways to get involved with the DMV community. This past year, I was chosen to participate as Team Lead for AIGA’s 2023 DC CreateAthon, serving local nonprofits and also helped design for DC Design Week this Fall. More recently, I have obtained my Trusted Tester certification for Section 508 Compliance with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, ensuring the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) achieve accessibility compliance and create an inclusive design space.

In the past, I have worked as a Graphic Designer, Art Director and Social Media Manager in the nonprofit sector, salvaged antiques, luxury resort wear and bespoke fashion. I attended the State University of New York at New Paltz, where I studied art, graphic design and psychology. My goal as a Designer is to use my creative expertise to inspire, educate, connect and assist others in any way I can.

To further my knowledge on accessibly and inclusive practices, I am currently enrolled in additional classes on Mental Health Response and American Sign Language.

Testimonial from Susan G.; “Lew Lew Design was commissioned to create a fresh new logo for my established business Red Hot Restoration. Lauren designed a gorgeous logo that expresses my company’s professionalism while keeping a personal and classic feel. The design translates beautifully on business cards, letterhead, tag signs and even large display signs equally well. Lauren was very easy to work with and accomplished all my seemingly odd requests without complaint. I highly recommend Lauren at Lew Lew Design for anyone looking for a fresh, yet classic approach to their business and design.
